This step paves the way for assigning the competent authority the responsibility of approving the establishments interested in exporting food products to the Saudi market, Or for the SFDA’s approval for the establishments interested to export to the Kingdom.

Can the SFDA approve a health certificate from the exporting country?

SFDA have the health certificates for food products stating all requi+B63:B67rements to export food to KSA, in the following link: https://www.sfda.gov.sa/en/regulations?tags=1

In addition, the interested competent authorities shall sign the health certificate and send it to the SFDA. If the competent authority has any inquiry regarding the health certificate it can be discussed with SFDA.

How to request for (Adding, Editing, or Delisting) establishments exporting food to KSA in the Saudi FDA website?

The establishment has to fill the self-audit form stamped by the competent authority then sending it to the SFDA through the diplomatic channels. So that the technical team can study them.

What are the exporting requirements to Saudi Arabia through a third country (transit transport)?

All products subject to the supervision of the SFDA, according to their classification, have clearance requirements, as well as conditions of transportation and storage.

All of the requirements are published at the SFDA’s website. However, some products are not allowed to be exported through a third country (such as drug, fish and meat) except for specific conditions.

What is the difference between Halal Certificate and Certificate of consignment for halal products?

Halal Certificate: a Certificate which  confirms that the product, the service or the regulations specified meets Halal requirements in the Islamic Law, the validation of this certificate is 3 years.

 

Certificate of consignment for Halal products: a certificate issued by recognized bodies to be attached to each consignment of products that require Halal certificate.

What are the products that require a halal certificate?

Currently the Halal slaughter certificate Certification is mandatory for the shipments of meat, poultry and their products coming to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and issued by exporters and appointed by the center.

What is the central clearance?

It is a center that handles clearance requests and releases all products subject to the supervision of the SFDA through which a unified procedure is applied, based on technical standards and requirements that must be met at the clearance stage,There are three centers for the regions of Saudi Arabia.
