The SFDA Hosted a Netherlands Delegation Specialized in Field of Food Safety

The SFDA, represented by its food sector, hosted a Netherlands delegation specialized in field of food safety during the 21st to the 23rd of Rabee Alakher, 1428H; that equals the 27th to the 29th of April, 2008, in order to discuss means of cooperation and exchange experiences between the SFDA and the Netherlands Authority of Food Safety and Consumers Products about modern methods to monitor imported food which includes inspecting customs ports and laboratories.
Several meetings have been held with the Netherlands delegation which consisted of the cultural attaché Mr. Philip Dee Young, Dr. Fritz Foscht the Official of the International Cooperation in the Netherlands Authority of Food Safety and Consumer Products and Dr. Wim Tragh from the State Institute for Food Safety which belongs to Wageningen University. On the other hand, the SFDA was represented by his Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Alkanhal the Acting Executive President of the SFAD, the Vice Executive President of Food Affairs Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize and the consultants of food sector.
Dr. Alkanhal confirmed the importance of such cooperation which reflects the SFDA tendencies that go with its strategic plan approved by the respected Board of Directors. In addition, his Excellency Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Alhuhaizeeh clarified that the cooperation idea raised from the SFDA belief of making use of other countries experiences in order to start from where other stop. It worth mentioning that the food sector has several cooperation programs with the UN Investment Program, the International Bank and other international authorities.
