GCC Ministerial Committee for Food Safety Holds the 10th Meeting Reaffirming Commitment to Joint Gulf Action

H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Athourity (SFDA) represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the 10th meeting of the the Food Safety Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held virtually on Wednesday the 6th of May 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Bahraini Kingdom Minister of Health Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, current chair of the Ministerial Committee for Food Safety, with the participation of Their Excellencies officials responsible for food safety in the GCC countries.
During the meeting, Their Excellencies discussed several topics of mutual interest, most notably the Unified Food Law for the GCC countries, in addition to the latest developments related to Gulf cooperation and coordination in the field of food safety.
The 10th meeting reflects the continued commitment of the GCC countries to joint Gulf action and unified visions toward priority issues, building on the strong ties and ongoing coordination among GCC countries. It also reinforces integration among the entities concerned with food safety and supports joint Gulf efforts to protect consumer health and enhance food safety levels across the GCC Member States.
