SFDA, OIC Conclude Joint Workshops

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) concluded today workshops that targeted OIC member states in the fields of organizing medical devices and products , and pharmacovigilance.
The third and final workshop, which was held on March 22-23, addressed the pharmacovigilance subject, during which discussions went over medicinal risks, monitoring the safety of proactive medicines and medicinal errors.
The workshop also reviewed the role of organizational authorities in the field of pharmacovigilance, Saudi guide for pharmacovigilance practices updates, as well as holding a workshop on assessing causes.
The joint training programs between SFDA and OIC commenced on March 3 with a workshop on organizing medical devices, followed by another on the basic pharmacovigilance on March 9.
These courses aim to enhance exchanging expertise and knowledge and sharing them among national authorities concerned with medicinal organization.
