SFDA Chief Meets Directors of Food Companies, Underscores Safety of Products

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Chief Executive Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey underscored the important role of the private sector in ensuring food safety.
Aljadhey's remarks came during a meeting today with chief executives of food companies in the Kingdom at the authority's headquarters in Riyadh as part of regular meetings held to enhance communication, transparency, partnership, and support investment in all its sectors.
He emphasized the significance of ongoing and effective communication between the SFDA and the private sector to fulfill national goals and align with its fourth strategic plan, which includes a focus on product safety.
Representatives from the companies commended the authority's efforts to ensure food safety and quality, as well as the support provided to food manufacturers, the clarity and smoothness of regulations, and the agility in addressing challenges. They affirmed that Saudi products have become reliable and high quality, competing with global products.
The meeting also reviewed various topics and joint initiatives to be pursued by the authority and food companies.
