SFDA’s executive department of local markets control captured expired food stuff, mixed with fake materials in some food storing and distribution organization; in addition to capturing other food stuff stored under the direct sun rays.
During its surprise inspection tours in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, the concerned committee found some expired food stuff, imported from India and other returned food stuff from the local markets due to their expiry in addition to products containing impurities in order to reproduce same and sell them in the markets.
During its inspection tours SFDA recorded in its reports that some expatriate workers changed the old expiry date with a new one on 5919 natural grapes vinegar bottles and 100 kilograms on Mayonnaise, 821 cartons of Afghani raisin, 1880 seasoned beef slices and 16 cartons of cucumber pickles.
SFDA’s executive department of local markets control also captured 411 cartons of expired food products, imported from India in a storing and packing warehouse, in addition to two barrels of natural grapes vinegar (1800 kgs. Each), containing mixture of returned ‘expired’ products from the markets and products that contain impurities in order to reproduce same.
