In the presence of H.E Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food & Drug Authority and H.E Dr. Qassim Al Qassabi, General Executive Supervisor of KFSH&RC, the International Radiology Conference and Exhibition was inaugurated at KFSH&RC on 16/0/1431AH corresponding to the 2nd. of March 2010G.

HE the CEO of Saudi FDA delivered a speech to the conference wherein he emphasized and praised the Government's and the Kingdom's leaders' efforts in promoting healthcare services in the Kingdom while he referred to the regulatory and enforcement role of medical devices & products control

HE mentioned that SFDA has completed its infrastructure for control of medical devices & products, through a series of integrated control processes upon which licensing and clearance certifications of medical devices & products are issued in addition to monitoring their life cycle . In this connection, medical devices & products regulations, implementation by laws and procedural rules was issued and enforced

Also, the Saudi FDA has launched the National Registration Center for medical devices & products in order to understand the existing situation of medical devices & products
market in the Kingdom

Furthermore, SFDA has established the National Center for medical devices & products
Reports in cooperation with the American Institute for Emergency Research and Information Technology Department of SFDA. The purpose of this Center is to receive reports about medical devices & products problems and incidents from medical organizations and hospitals in the Kingdom, and medical devices & products
problems, incidents and recalls from international firms in this field

The conference has included several workshops and lectures focused on medical devices
