SFDA CEO Visits Customs, Jeddah Islamic Sea Port and King Abdullah Economic City

H.E. The Chief Executive officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almish’al, SFDA Vice Presidents and accompanying delegation visited yesterday, Tuesday, Saudi Customs and Jeddah Islamic Port where they were received by the Director of Jeddah Islamic Port Customs Department, Mr. Mohammed Al Dakheel and the Director of Jeddah Islamic Port, Mr. Sahir Tahlawi and a number of executives.

Dr. Almish’al reviewed the work flow and procedures, methods  of clearance and the means to integrate and harmonize the performance of SFDA Branch in Jeddah Islamic Port with the remaining government authorities evolved in clearance of goods, in order to facilitate special clearance procedures without compromising the safety of food, safety and efficacy of drug and safety and efficiency of medical devices & products.

During his meeting with SFDA’s inspectors and employees in West Region Branch, Dr. Almish’al asked them to make their best endeavors and to coordinate with the other government entities to counter all food, drug and medical devices & products violating SFDA’s requirements and conditions.

In the framework of  enhancement of the relations and partnership with the associated authorities, the Chief Executive Officer of SFDA visited King Abdullah Economic City where he was received by the General Secretary of Economic Cities Authority, Mr. Muhannad Hilal and H.E. the Managing Director & CEO of King Abdullah Economic City, Mr. Fahad Al Rasheed. During the meeting they discussed the means of cooperation in all aspects, the idea of strategic  partnership with the Economic Cities Authority and the establishment of SFDA branch at King Abdullah Economic City Port coinciding with the entry of  a group of national and international food and drug companies which started building their factories within the City. During the visit, SFDA’s delegation toured the Economic City Port and viewed the latest progress in King Abdullah Economic City.

 

It is noteworthy that SFDA is always keen to improve its performance by adopting the latest methods and technologies in order to keep pace with the continuous change depending on its previous experience in the field of  surveillance and control.
