Memo of Understanding to Enhance Safety of Imported Animal Products

SFDA signed a Memo of Understanding (MoU) with the National Office for Safety of Food Products Morocco. The purpose of the MoU is to enhance and promote the cooperation between the two countries in the field of safety and quality of food products of animal origin, sea-food products, animal feed and veterinary drugs in both counties. The MoU also seeks to standardize the methods used in research of food & veterinary analysis laboratories as well as to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of consumer protection from the hazards of common diseases or microbe, physical or chemical contamination that food products of animal origin, sea-food products and animal feed may be exposed to.
At his part, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Ghariri, Director of International Cooperation of Legal Affairs Executive Department at SFDA, explained that signing the MoU comes in line with SFDAks endeavors to raise food safety and security level through coordination with the corresponding entities in brotherly or friendly countries in the field of sharing information, examination of food & meat and raising the level of control of meat & food exports in the Kingdom.
It worth mentioning that SFDA seeks to sign several agreements with the corresponding control authorities involved in food, drug, medical devices & products in other countries in order to ensure safety of food, safety and efficacy of drug and safety & efficiency of medical devices and products.
