SFDA Warns about Supramil 1 Infant Powder Milk produced by Belgamilk due to suspects of contamination with Chronobacter sakazakii Bacteria

On 22/5/1432H (26/04/2011G)), SFDA was informed via the European Rapid Alarm & Crisis Management System for Food & Feed (EU-RASFF) that Belgomilk company had recalled the Advanced Formula of Supramil 1 Brand Infant Powder Milk, for infants under six months of age and produced by Belgium, with expiry date 7/2011 and No. BN0014, packed in 400 gram metal containers, as it is suspected to be contaminated with Chronobacter sakazakii Bacteria that may be harmful to infants’ health.
SFDA is coordinating with the respective entities in order to take the necessary precautionary actions to ensure prompt recall of this product from the local market and at the same time warns consumers Not to buy this product and immediately dispose of any quantities of it, for safety of their infants, health.
