SFDA Monitors 274 Violations During 4,891 Inspection Tours in August

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) monitored 274 violations in facilities under its supervision, during 4,891 inspection tours in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in August this year.
SFDA stated that it carried out 2,414 inspection tours to food facilities, 246 to pesticides and feed facilities, and 1450 to pharmaceutical facilities and medical devices, in addition to routine visits and smart inspections.
The Authority indicated that it closed 18 facilities for not obtaining a license and 5 facilities for reasons related to the safety of the product. It also fined 42 facilities operating without a license, and stopped 5 production lines, in addition to destroying 57,593 packages.
SFDA carried out 1401 monitoring and investigation tours to investigate unknown warehouses, violating products, unlicensed facilities and warehouses, and track and trace advertisements, electronic accounts and their owners, in addition to tracking product sources.
It also indicated that the number of consignments received through the ports reached 29,358, and 342 consignments were refused.
It called on consumers to report any such violations by calling the unified number (19999) or via the Tammini app available on the IOS and Android.
