SFDA Prevents "Partially Hydrogenated Oils"(PHOs) in the Food Industry and Gives a Period to the Manufacturers to Comply with the Saudi Technical Regulations

Saudi Food and Drug Authority organized yesterday an awareness day for the General Entertainment Authority's employees to enhance healthy lifestyle on the occasion of World Food Day.
The program included scientific lectures for defining the calories and their measurement provided methods; and how to calculate the daily requirement of food for individuals, in addition, SFDA staff presenting nutritional consultations and checked biometrics needing for some employees.
Saudi Food & Drug Authority is hosting the 2nd meeting of the International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF) under the theme ‘’modernization of food system’’.
The meeting which is held virtually, will discuss developing food system and sustaining food supply chain, and will shed light on advancing scientific communication of topics related to food safety.

The Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) issued a warning against 3 spices as it contains (Sudan I) dyes, which is banned to be used in food products for the possibility of health risks to the consumer.
The SFDA clarified the products details as follow:
