The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) participates in the celebration of the World Food Safety Day, which falls on Wednesday (the 7th of June of each year), under the theme “Food Standards Save Lives”.
The celebration of this day aims to promote a culture of food safety, comply with food standards and raise awareness of their importance, and reduce food risks by raising awareness and helping to prevent, detect and manage risks transmitted through food.
Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) stated that the rumor that multi-flavored fruit beverages in the form of "powder" contain some dangerous ingredients, such as calcium phosphate, which breaks down bones, is untrue.
The SFDA emphasized that all ingredients used in the making of any food item are tested for safety and that no ingredient with a detrimental effect on health may be included.
