Pursuant to SFDA's efforts in controlling and tracking the safety of pharmaceutical products and the governing regulations thereof; the inspection committee – formulated from Riyadh Municipality Environment Health Department, SFDA, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior- has closed out " Zain Al Atat" Herbal Products Store of Al Ta-meer Shopping Center in Riyadh due to presence of violating products in the said store which have already been confiscated and the store had made an undertaking, in writing, to Environment Health department not to sell such products again.

In view of its role of monitoring and control of safety and security of drug and herbal products ; SFDA recalled two herbal products from the local market which are promoted and alleged to increase sexual capability.

Within the framework of SFDA programs for tracking , monitoring and control of the safety and security of drugs and herbal and cosmetic products, SFDA inspectors have recalled 16 products promoted in the local market with many deceiving medical alleges. SFDA has analyzed these products in its own Drug Sector’s Laboratories and found that many of these herbal products are counterfeit by addition of harmful and toxic substances.

Consumers are urged not to buy or use four health products and two proprietary Chinese medicines that contain potentially hazardous ingredients which can cause side effects, the Department of Health says.

The health products are Power 58 Extra, Platinum Power 58 Extra, E nhanix New Extra Men's Formula and Valentino. The two proprietary Chinese medicines are King Power Oral Solution and Stretch Up Capsules.

Pursuant to its role of awareness and based on one of its tasks, provided in its regulations, regarding consumer awareness in food , drug & medical devices area; SFDA Inspection Teams have tracked the advertisements published by The Saudi-Singaporean Factory in several newspapers for pharmaceutical products that are not registered in SFDA.

In view of SFDA's efforts of tracking, monitoring and control of quality and effectiveness of drugs and cosmetic products, SFDA inspectors detected a product named "Lose Weight Coffee" produced in China by Kunming Huining Company in a form of packs, which is assumed to be natural Coffee for weight losing.
