The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) was honored with the 2025 Arab Digital Government Award in the "Artificial Intelligence Initiatives" category for its initiative, "Using Artificial Intelligence in Drug Availability," during the 20th edition of the award ceremony held in Dubai. Organized by the Arab Digital Government Authority, the award celebrates outstanding government entities across the Arab region.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, led the Authority's delegation participating in the 6th annual meeting of the International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF) held in Santiago, Chile. The meeting, which took place from April 9-11, 2025, centered on the theme "Innovation, Technology and Digital Transformation in Food Safety." It brought together leaders from food safety agencies worldwide to discuss strategies for leveraging technologies to enhance global food safety systems.

Aljadhey, met today in Santiago with Dr. Andreas Hensel, the President of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, participated in the third edition of the World Local Production Forum (WLPF) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from April 7-9, 2025. The forum was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Emirates Drug Establishment (EAE) under the theme "Advancing Local Production for Health Equity, Global Health Security, and Sustainable Development.” 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, met on Tuesday with the Chief Executive of Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), Dr. Yasuhiro Fujiwara, and the Councilor for Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW), Dr. Daisaku Sato. The meeting was held at the MHLW headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, with the attendance of officials from both sides.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) convened a roundtable meeting with leading Japanese companies in Tokyo, Japan. H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, the Chief Executive Officer of the SFDA, was joined by representatives from prominent Japanese companies operating in the food, drug, and medical device sectors.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, held a bilateral meeting today, Monday, with the Chairperson of the Food Safety Commission of Japan (FSCJ), Dr. YAMAMOTO Shigeki, in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Ghazi bin Faisal bin Zaqr and officials from both sides.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, led the SFDA’s delegation at the 27th Management Committee Meeting of the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF) in Tokyo, Japan, from March 10-14, 2024.

This participation follows the SFDA's recent membership in the IMDRF in September 2023, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing its international and regional leadership in medical device regulation.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. During his visit to the European Commission, the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey met with the CEO of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), Mr. Richard Zaltzman, in Brussels, Belgium.
