The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Amman. The agreement aims to enhance regulatory integration between the two sides.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the SFDA, H.E. Dr. Nizar Mheidat, Director General of the JFDA, and Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Mounis, Acting Chargé d’Affaires at the Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Jordan.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, conveyed his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – on the accomplishments highlighted in the 2024 annual report of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on the management of veterinary medicinal products. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration and facilitate the exchange of information and expertise between the two parties.

The signing took place in Paris, France, during the official visit of H.E. Mr. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the SFDA Board of Directors.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) was honored with the 2025 Arab Digital Government Award in the "Artificial Intelligence Initiatives" category for its initiative, "Using Artificial Intelligence in Drug Availability," during the 20th edition of the award ceremony held in Dubai. Organized by the Arab Digital Government Authority, the award celebrates outstanding government entities across the Arab region.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, led the Authority's delegation participating in the 6th annual meeting of the International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF) held in Santiago, Chile. The meeting, which took place from April 9-11, 2025, centered on the theme "Innovation, Technology and Digital Transformation in Food Safety." It brought together leaders from food safety agencies worldwide to discuss strategies for leveraging technologies to enhance global food safety systems.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, met today in Santiago with Dr. Andreas Hensel, the President of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). The meeting was held as part of the bilateral engagements on the sidelines of the 6th meeting of the International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF), held in Chile from April 9-11, 2025. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, participated in the third edition of the World Local Production Forum (WLPF) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from April 7-9, 2025. The forum was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Emirates Drug Establishment (EAE) under the theme "Advancing Local Production for Health Equity, Global Health Security, and Sustainable Development.” 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, met on Tuesday with the Chief Executive of Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), Dr. Yasuhiro Fujiwara, and the Councilor for Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW), Dr. Daisaku Sato. The meeting was held at the MHLW headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, with the attendance of officials from both sides.
