On behalf of HRH Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz , Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense & Aviation, Inspector General and Chairman of SFDA Board of Directors, HRH Prince Dr. Mansur bin Metib bin Abdul Aziz , Minister of Municipal & Rural Affairs Chaired yesterday the 10th. SFDA Board of Directors’ Meeting at the presence of Board Members

The board discussed its meeting agenda and made several decisions accordingly ,including: Approval of Drug Pricing Rules that will encourage increasing drug availability in the Saudi Market at reasonable prices and leads to reduction of innovative drug prices by minimum 20% of its price at the end of its patent protection period as well as encouraging international companies to migrate drug industries to the local factories, besides increasing the transparency of drug pricing process in the Kingdom. These rules will be enforced on 01/01/1433H.

The Board has also approved of the draft feed regulations and recommended to escalate same to the respective authorities for approval. This will present an important component of the feed control process, leading to safety and security of feed and protection of human health from diseases carried by unsafe animal feed.

The board has also agreed to transfer the tasks of development, issuance and approval of mandatory and optional standard specification for food, medical devices & products, cosmetics , feed and pesticides from SASO to SFDA as of 01/07/1432H

Moreover, the board has approved SFDA Annual Report for the Fiscal year 1430/1431H and approved of SFDA Final Account for the Fiscal Year 1431/1432H.
