Jeffrey Gren is an international health industry specialist with vast medical devices, pharmaceuticals and health IT experience. Jeff is President of Gren International Health & Trade Consulting, a Board Member of the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global) and a senior health specialist with The Webster Group. Jeff retired from a US Government senior official career and he served as the Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) Health Industries Office (1991 – 2014).

Jeff has worked with health regulators involved in international activities, such as APEC’s Life Science Innovation Forum, the medical devices Global Harmonization Working Group (GHWP), the Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF) and the International Medical Devices Regulators Forum (IMDRF). While at USDOC Jeff chaired bi-lateral US health dialogues with China and Russia. Jeff has been a frequent expert speaker at global safe medicine and medical devices international conferences such as the Global Forum on Access to Safe Medicines, the Medicrime Convention and APEC and ASEAN pharmaceutical and medical devices workshops.

As an ASOP Global Board Member, Jeff was the lead author, with Health Canada, for the APEC Medical Product Internet Sales Toolkit. During 2022 Jeff led a global effort to update this toolkit.

Jeff also serves as a member of the APEC Harmonization Center Advisory Board. Jeff received Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston and he has received numerous U.S. Department of Commerce, industry association and international organization medals and awards.
