She joined Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in 2005 after she completed a master’s degree in pharmacology. She has been working for Japanese regulatory authorities MHLW and PMDA for more than 15 years and is currently in charge of international regulatory harmonization. Before transferred to the current office, she inspected manufactures of medical devices and IVDs and assessed certification bodies for 10 years to check their quality management system (QMS).
