Saudi FDA Becomes Member of the European Rapid Alert System for Food & Feed (RASFF) & the International Food Safety Authorities Networks (INFOSAN)

Within its efforts to follow up and control the quality and safety of locally produced and imported food, and in coordination with the respective food control authorities in all respects, SFDA Food Sector, represented by Rapid Alert System for Food has coordinated with the European Commission represented by RASFF Administration to be one of the member states of this system. This membership will provide access to the European Food Alerts Database and allow tracking of all matters that affect food safety and security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , in order to take the necessary precautionary actions to ensure consumers’ safety .
Within the same effort, SFDA Rapid Alerts Center for Food joined the International Food Safety Authorities Networks (INFOSAN) to become the national contact point for this network in the Kingdom aiming to provide the center with food reports and information of non-safe imported food to allow taking the necessary precautionary actions.
