The SFDA Commented on International Reports Regarding Children Care Products

2009-04-15

Since revealing facts is the mission of the SFDA, it likes to point out to reports of environmental and health organizations in the USA and some Asian countries which included warnings toward numbers of children care products as they contain residues of 1,4-Dioxane and formaldehyde in different rates; which considered cancerous compounds.
In accordance to these warnings and the SFDA concern about consumers safety, the SFDA follows up local markets to insure nonexistence of any harmful product. In addition, during the last period the SFDA did comprehensive studies about most shampoo products existed in local markets and analyzed different samples of them including products that had been warned against. Results showed nonexistence of 1,4-Dioxane. Yet the SFDA is working on withdrawing samples of cosmetic products marketed locally to insure their safety. As usual, the SFDA will announce about any harmful product; for more information about these products please visit our e-website:
