The SFDA Organizes Two Workshops Entitled "The Right Procedures to Withdraw and Circulate Samples of Food Imported to the Kingdom"

The SFDA, represented by its food sector, organizes two workshops about "the right procedures to withdraw and circulate samples of food imported to the Kingdom" in Quality Laboratory of Jeddah and Dammam, starting from the 27th to the 28th of Muharram, 1430H, that equals the 24th to the 25th of January, 2009 in Dammam, and from the 1st to the 2nd of Saffar, 1430H, that equals the 27th to the 28th of January, 2009. His Excellency, Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize, Vice Executive President of Food Affairs, stated that the SFDA seeks developing the processes of controlling imported food by these two workshops in order to transfer such duties from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the SFDA; and believing in the importance of right procedures done to withdraw and circulate samples, as crucial sequences will be built upon them. Dr. Dieter Arnold, Director of the Federal Institute of Health Protection of Consumers and Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Frederic Johnson, Consultant of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), will deliver the lectures in the workshops that will handle these issues:

- The current system of monitoring imported food in the Kingdom.
- Withdrawal of samples in the system of monitoring food in International specifications.
- Means of having samples of different food.
- Problems might face during processes of samples withdrawal. - Stages of Samples circulation.
- Dealing with results of samples tests.
- Supervising quality during food inspection and concentrating on samples.
