SFDA warns about using Melamine Saucepans as they exceed the maximum allowed limit for transfer of Formaldehyde & Melamine to Food Stuff

SFDA received communication from European Rapid Alarm for Safety of Food & Feed (EURASFF) of the European Commission dated 15/1/1433H (7/12/2011G) advising that Germany has recalled white Melamine Saucepans, produced in Hong Kong and exported to several countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the trademark” flow Suppenkelle, No. 4003683354978. 29cm long, and trademark “Suppenkelle flow” No.4003683354985, 21cm. long, with operation No. LI0ZI due to exceeding the maximum allowed limit for transfer of Formaldehyde & Melamine to Food Stuff causing serious damage to human health.

SFDA has coordinated with the concerned authorities in order to take the necessary precautionary procedures to ensure prompt recall of this product from the local markets while warning consumers not to buy this product and dispose of it immediately for safety of their health
