SFDA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, received yesterday at SFDA Head Office, H.E President of Ports Corporation, Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Tuwijri and Ports Directors. At the beginning of the meeting Dr. Al Kanhal welcomed Engineer Al Tuwijri and his accompanying delegation and emphasized SFDA keenness to embrace the principles of transparency and clarity aiming to strengthen assurance of food and safety, drug security and efficacy and safety and efficiency of medical devices and products.

During the meeting, operational mechanisms and control functions in the three SFDA Sectors, Food, Drug and Medical Devices & Products, were reviewed in order to enhance the public health in the Kingdom. Al Tuwijri and his delegation ended the visit by a tour to all SFDA sectors, viewed fast alarm centers of food & food and drug inspection strategy, and improvement of points of entry to ensure safety of food and security of drugs and ease of clearance procedures, after safety is ensured. Also, the different control tasks and clearance mechanisms of SFDA sectors were reviewed.

It worth mentioning that SFDA continuously coordinates their efforts and tasks with the various associated entities to build up efficient control body that guarantees safety of food and security and efficacy of drug and efficiency of medical devices and accessories for citizens.
