Attended by Government Entities & Scientific Associations: SFDA Launches Intoxication Forum

SFDA will launch ‘Intoxication Forum’ event next Tuesday morning in Riyadh, under the banner: ‘ Let’s Protect Them from Intoxication” as part of the 4th.National Week for protection from intoxication. The forum is organized by SFDA Drug Sector represented by Consumer Awareness Department.

Pharmacist Abdul Rahman Al Sultan, Consumer Awareness Director, stated that SFDA was keen to diversify participations and topics of papers that will be presented in the forum. The Forum will be attended by keynote speakers from the Ministry of Health, Civil Defense, King Faisal Specialist Hospital, National Guard Health Affairs, King Khaled University Hospital and Saudi Pharmacology Society.

Al Sultan added that papers will be presented about government entities experience with drug intoxication incidents in general and chemical intoxication incidents in particular as well as Kingdom’s experience in clinical & children intoxication incidents plus civil defense experience in saving of souls and environment protection . Topics will also include the awareness role of the national center for drugs and toxins, precautions of using herbs in addition of the private sector’s experience and challenges of toxics management. The Forum will also cover SFDA experience in the previous Intoxication Weeks and other papers. This forum is approved by the Saudi  Council for Health Specialties as a 4 hour continuous medical education  program.

It worth mentioning that the Intoxication Week for this year comes as a continuation of the good perception of the previous Weeks. In addition to the scientific gathering, the Week will include awareness lectures , public activities and interactive programs for children.
