Saudi Arabia Chairs AHWP

The Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP) has selected Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), to chair the Party's current session until 2020 after members voting.
Eng. Ali Al dalaan, Vice Executive President for Medical Devices Sector at SFDA, was assigned as Chairman of the AHWP for the coming period.
AHWP is one of the largest parties in the world, which specialized in global harmonization for medical devices. Additionally, it includes 31 countries; the most prominent countries are Saudi Arabia, China, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Kazakhstan. 
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represents the Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP) in the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), which includes the United States, Canada, European Union, Australia and Japan. In addition, it chaired the scientific and technical groups from 2014 to February 2019, which includes ten scientific groups specialized in the preparation of regulations and legislations for medical devices in all process of manufacturing and usage in hospitals.
