SFDA Captures 70k Packs of Violating Pharmaceutical Products

SFDA inspection teams captured more than 50K package of violating pharmaceutical products located in some pharmacies and warehouses and about 20k package of violating pharmaceutical products stored under bad conditions in an apartment belonged to a medical centre in Riyadh, during the month of Ramadan.

SFDA stated that their inspection crews intensified their visits to drug stores and pharmaceutical products points of sale throughout the Kingdom during the month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitre holidays. This resulted in detecting an apartment that belonged to a medical centre in Riyadh, wherein more than 20k pharmaceutical products were stored in violating conditions. Also, the organization did not hold license from SFDA for storing and distribution of pharmaceutical products activities.

 SFDA pointed out that its inspection crews conducted inspection visits to pharmaceutical products warehouses and pharmacies during the month of Ramadan that resulted in capturing over50K violating pharmaceutical products with a value exceeding SR5Million> SFDA is currently proceeding with the necessary disciplinary actions against violating organizations in addition to destruction of the violating quantities.
