Saudi Food and Drug Authority and China’s National Medical Products Administration Sign MoU

In the Chinese capital, Beijing, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, Friday, with China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to exchange experiences and regulatory information.
The MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the SFDA, H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, and the Commissioner of the NMPA, H.E. Mr. Li Li, at the NMPA headquarters, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to China.
Areas of cooperation outlined in the MoU regarding medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics include exchanging regulatory information pertaining to laws and regulations, as well as sharing regulatory experiences and best practices.
By signing MoUs with various entities at the regional and global levels, the SFDA aims to enhance its international leadership through joint efforts with counterpart authorities.
This strategic partnership was established during the SFDA CEO’s visit to China, where he is leading Saudi Arabia’s delegation at the 8th Shenzhen Food Safety Forum, which will be held from November 5 to 6, 2024.
