SFDA, represented by Food Sector, has conducted a professional training on’ Nutritional and Health Alleges of Food Products ‘in coordination with GCC Standardization Authority, during the period 24-27/01/1434H (8-11/12/2012), at Al Izdihar Holiday Inn, Riyadh. The first course was entitled: (Nutritional and Health Information and Alleges of Food Products’ 24-25/01l1434H (8-9/12/2012).

H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of SFDA, attended the launch of Sanofi  drug factory project, owned by Sanofi Aventis Arabia, in Jeddah on Tuesday 13/01/1434H. At the end of the inauguration event H.E. FDA Chief Executive Officer was recognized and appreciated by Sanofi Company of France. SFDA participation in this event comes in line with its policy of encouraging and support of investment in the field of pharmaceutical industry in the Kingdom.

 H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of SFDA, received Mr. Peter Penndel , Czech Minister of Agriculture and accompanying delegation at SFDA Head Office conference hall this morning.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Kanhal welcomed the Czech Minister who is visiting the Kingdom upon an official invitation and  wished him a good stay in the Kingdom.

 H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of SFDA, sponsored Tuesday,13 Moharram 1434H (27 Nov. 2012) Fake Drugs Seminar, organized by the Medical Commission of the Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh. The purpose of the seminar was to focus on several issues related to this type of activity and its impact  on the health and national economy.

​SFDA received a delegation of the teaching staff and students of the faculty of medicine, dentistry and applied medical sciences from Prince Sulman University, Al Kharj, at SFDA Head Office on Sunday 26/12/1433H,  in view of support, activation of cooperation  and joint-works between the two parties.

SFDA exhibition stand was launched in the World Fare of Medicine “MEDICA 2012”, Dusseldorf, Germany, during the period 14-17 November, 2012. The exhibition was visited by huge number of visitors, both in quantity and quality, who were able to stand closely on the advanced and easy services offered  by SFDA to manufacturers and importers and its electronic services and systems. Several flyers were delivered to introduce SFDA in general and Medical Devices & Products Sector in particular.

 SFDA, represented by its Executive Department for Feed and in coordination with the Executive Department for Communication & Awareness of Drug Sector, organized a workshop entitled: “ Licensing of non-pharmaceutical Feed Additives Organizations & Registration of its Products” on Tuesday 6/8/1433h ( 26/6/2012) at the main lecture room at SFDA Head Office, Riyadh.

​Under the auspice of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Drug Sector will hold an open meeting with Drug Companies and interested parties in this field. The meeting will be held on Moharram 4, 1434H (November 18, 2012) from 08:00 AM to 12:40 Noon at Riyadh Marriot Hotel, Makarem Hall. The meeting comes in line with SFDA’s policy of periodical communication with its partners such as drug companies and agents; and in activation of its transparency policy adopted by SFDA in its Business.

 The activities of the 17th. Asian Harmonization Work Group (AHWG)Conference & Meeting- China (Taipi) were concluded. AHWG includes 23 member states from East Asia, Arab Countries, Africa and South America. The conference was held in period 2-6 November 2012and was chaired by H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Sulaiman Al Tayar, SFDA Vice President for Medical Devices & Products Sector, KSA.

Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) received new guidelines from US FDA advising the importance of renewing the registration of local & foreign food organizations in FDA by virtue of the new food safety law, The new law covers food manufacturing, processing and canning organizations for both human and animal foods. Initial registration or registration update does not require payment of any fee, and registration will be available during the period October 1- December 31, once every two years.
