The S.F.D.A Met International Companies of Medicines

The S.F.D.A represented by its drug sector held its second meeting with the managers of the scientific bureaus and regional managers of international companies at the S.F.D.A largest hall in Riyadh, on the last Tuesday the 23rd of Safar, 1428H corresponding to the 13th of March, 2007, in order to continue its conferring meetings with the related authorities that include national manufacturers of drugs, agents of national drug companies and managers of scientific bureaus. The meeting started at 1.15 p.m. with a welcoming word delivered by his Excellency d. Saleh bin Abdullah Bawazeer the vice chairman of drug affairs on behalf of his Excellency d. Mohammed bin Ahmed Alkanhal. He referred to the resolution of the ministers council regarding the S.F.D.A system and stated that organizing pharmaceutical preparations is one of the S.F.D.A duties beside other ones like legislative duties which give it the right of modifying regulations and lists and executive ones so it execute what is included in these regulations and lists beside other controlling duties. Moreover, he talked about
the future policy of drug sector towards registering pharmaceutical products of different companies and stated that transparency is the S.F.D.A emblem. He clarified that the idea of arranging such conferring meetings started during the Arab Union meeting of drug and medical requirements producers entitled (toward a unified Arab file of drug registration) which was held in Jeddah during the 19th to the 20th of February, 2007.
After that, d. Bawazeer introduced d. Haged bin Mohammed bin Hajed the manager of registering administration in drug sector to the attendance who delivered a speech entitled:
( Pharmaceutical Product Licensing and communicating with the Private Sector, a Futuristic Approach). He started it by clarifying the goal and the vision of the S.F.D.A and what it has accomplished until now regarding future strategic plans and the role of private sectors towards the S.F.D.A. Then he referred to the approaches of introducing and registering pharmaceutical preparations of different companies and ended his speech by wishing that it was useful and clear.
At the end of the meeting d. Saleh thanked the attendants for accepting the invitation and hoped that it will be the first step toward flourishing cooperation between the S.F.D.A and the private sectors.
