SFDA captured 1411 violating products in “Attarah stores “in Riyadh

 SFDA inspectors detected 1411 violating products in a number of Attarat’s stores during thier inspection tours. In a statement SFDA cleared that it’s inspection teams checked a number of Attarat’s stores in Riyadh as part of their inspection program of pharmaceutical products that have medical claims illegally traded in the local market where they captured 1411 violated products.

SFDA pointed out that the major violations noted by the inspection team in the field of Attarat is the existence of unknown products and mixtures of unknown formula’s claimed to treat “colon, joints pain, diabetes, and skin diseases and eczema in addition to other products with violated medical claims.

SFDA is taking all regulatory procedures against violated “Attarah stores” which include damaging all captured violating products and implementing regulations of countering commercial fraud.

SFDA has recently published a list of 26 illegal violating products that are traded in Attarah stores that should only be dispensed by medical prescriptions pointing out that some of these products are of unknown formula and sources. And that some of these products should only be sold in pharmacies and dispensed according to medical prescriptions as they have dangerous side effects if not properly used. Some violating products have medical claims of reliving pain such as neck and joints pain, flu, and nerves infections and killing all pain. Some products claim their ability to treat (migraine, ellipse, strokes, comas, wounds and acnes) some products are contaminated by high quantities of mercury which is very harmful to the health. Also; some products are contaminated with high quantities of bacteria exceeding the allowed limit permitted by the Saudi Standards and some products contain substances that cause fetal Abnormalities
