SFDA Announces Update and Approval of Interested Organizations in Export of Meat & Meat Products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Jordan

Further to SFDA approval of interested organizations in export of meat and meat products to the kingdom.., approval of the Vice President for Food Sector was issued to approve of some organizations and update the list of previously approved organizations for export of meat from Jordan as follows:
First: Approval of the following two organizations
1. National Poultry Company
2. Seniorah Food Industries Company
To export their processed red and white meat products from safe sources to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

SFDA Warns about Certain Potable Drinking Water Products

SFDA has recently collected samples of various sizes of potable drinking water, locally produced, from different production dates and batches, in order to verify their conformity with GCC Standard Specifications No. ( 1025/2009- Potable Drinking Water), setting the maximum permissible percentage of Bromates at (10 ppm). Laboratory analysis of these water samples revealed that they exceeded the allowed level of Bromate, as follows:

1. Athba Water produced by Athba Water Limited Company Factory.

SFDA Warns about “Aghadeir Company Products” of Morocco

SFDA has recently collected samples of “Aghadeir Company Products” of Morocco that have alleged medications. Upon analysis of these products in SFDA’s laboratories, it is found that they contain some pharmaceutical components such as Cyproheptadine, contained in Aghadeir Body Max product, used as anti-allergy and weight gaining, and Tadalafil, in Aghadeir for Men Only product, used as sexual promoter and Anthraquinone used as laxative in Aghadeir for Fitness and Agility product .

In continuation of its role of tracking and follow up of the latest news and updates of EHEC Bacteria accidents in Federal Republic of Germany and several EU States. And; upon reviewing the reports received from the International Food Safety Network (INFOSAN), EU Commission and Control Bodies in Federal Republic of Germany, referring to imported fenugreek seeds from outside EU States may be the source of this problem and that, to date. no evidence is found to link this problem to fresh vegetables.

H.E. the Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Food & Drug Authority, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal inaugurated Saturday evening 20/9/1432H, the 3rd. philanthropic “Photography Exhibition” entitled: “You are my hope, after Allah” which was executed by the Saudi Society for Cancer Combating” at Gharnata Commercial Center in Riyadh.
More than 40 photographers from different ages and categories have participated in this exhibition in coordination with Arab Lens Website.

SFDA Continued Work During Eid Holidays

SFDA has continued its business during Eid holidays in its main offices and sub-branches as well as points of entry of food, drug and medical devices & products sectors in order to complete clearance processes. At his part, Dr. Mohammed Al Kanhal, CEO of SFDA has explained that a number of employees in the various SFDA sectors were assigned to finish work procedures during Eid Al Fitre holidays in all critical locations and that SFDA inspectors and supervisors will continue with their control and inspection role.
