Being the First Government Entity SFDA Adopts Microsoft Smart Systems by using ‘ Widows Phone 8” Application.

Smart phones users, using ‘Widows Phone 8’ Operating System, can now access SFDA services, browse SFDA’s news and alerts through the new application, as SFDA is the first government entity that launches an integrated application at the level of government entities, on Widow Phone Operating System.
H.E. The Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed Al Misha’l, launched the first version of Widows Phone 8’ Application, which is available for download from Windows Store. This comes in SFDA’s keeping pace with technology developments and presence in the media in a way that matches SFDA’s importance and role in the community, and its intension to make the users aware of its functions and efforts.
This application included information about SFDA and its role &functions, in addition to introduction of SFDA’s Sectors “Food, Drug and Medical Devices & Products”, SFDA’s News and Alerts in addition to the Links to SFDA’s Electronic Services. The application also contains videos, awareness and health flyers.
Widows Phone 8 is the 2nd. Generation of Widows Phone Operating System for smart phones and Tablets from Microsoft. The new system depends on the basic Widows NT Operating System with numerous common elements with Widow 8 computers Operating System, which allows sharing applications by both systems easily.However, many companies provided this systems in their smart phones, such as HTC, Nokia and Samsung.
It is noteworthy that SFDA is one of the pioneers in keeping pace with technology developments by launching iPhone Operating System and Android Operating System. This presents a practical demonstration of SFDA’s effort in implementation of Government Directions towards e-government and a true translation of its objectives to achieve quality excellence in IT Services.
